Back Cabourgweg, De Panne

The Adinkere field battery was a shore battery, under the direction of the army. The battery consisted of six brick open platforms. They were reinforced with sand at the sides. There were also four artillery bunkers and one command bunker. One of the four artillery bunkers has been completely destroyed, another has also been damaged, but some of it still remains. Here and there you will still find some trenches and original road surfacing. Out on the land you can also see some bomb craters, which are the result of the heavy bombing in 1944.
